The Giant Eagle Multisport Festival offers something for the entire family. The festival kicks off Saturday with the Giant Eagle Girls Tri Too Triathlon, followed by the new Giant Eagle Kids Aquathon. Sunday features the Giant Eagle Triathlon (and now a duathlon option) which offers participants a unique point-to-point Olympic and Sprint distance triathlon, starting from Alum Creek State Park and finishing in downtown Columbus, Ohio in the Arena District. While the triathletes are swimming, hundreds of runners and walkers will be taking on the Giant Eagle 5k/10k Run and the Giant Eagle 2k Fitness Walk in downtown Columbus.

 


Giant Eagle Multisport Festival adds "duathlon" event

The Giant Eagle Multisport Festival has added a duathlon division to the already exciting weekend of racing.  The duathlon provides non-swimmers an exciting way to participate in the Giant Eagle Multisport Festival weekend. Participants that choose the duathlon division will start with a 3k (1.86 miles) run in the park at Alum Creek.  The duathlon is available in the sprint and olympic distances. The start line will be next to transition #1. The duathlon will offer awards to the top three male/female overall and the top three in all the USAT age groups (15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc...to 75+).  Participants may compete as individuals or on two person relay teams (one person bikes and other person runs).
